Early Access, Beta Testing and Enterprise Access for Mobile Apps

Our beta testing and early access program extends to our mobile apps, and there are a number of ways to get early access to our apps before they reach production.

Additionally, our enterprise offerings provide for custom builds and custom distribution.

Production Access

Our mobile apps are in Apple’s App Store (iOS) and Google’s Play Store (Android).

Enterprise Access

In addition to using the public App Stores, Datalink also offer closed access services for enterprise customers and early access users.

For iOS

Authorised enterprises can includes our iOS apps in their MDM and enterprise App Store using Apple Business Manager. In addition to controlling distribution via your MDM, this also allows Datalink to perform additional enterprise developments such as white-labelling and locking down API endpoints within the app for tighter security.

After enrolling:

  1. Send us your Business Manager Organisation ID and Organisation Name, exactly as they appear in the portal.

  2. Datalink will add those details link your enterprise’s private app store to Datalink’s apps.

  3. If part of the agreement, Datalink will deploy a customised app with white-labelling, additional capabilities or higher security.

  4. You will then be able to access private builds of our apps. If you have an issue accessing our app, please ensure that the Custom Apps option in the in the Enrolment Information area of our account is enabled.

For Android

Android users can be invited to access our build service to access white-labelled apps as well as early access apps, downloadable as APKs.

To access App Center, follow these steps:

  1. Request an invite from Datalink

  2. If accepted, we will issue an invite.

  3. Respond to the invite and follow the steps to sign up as an App Center user.

  4. For iOS devices, you will need to also obtain your device’s UDID, and email it to Datalink to have it registered with Apple.

To use App Centre, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into AppCenter.ms

  2. Apps you’ve been authorised to access will appear for download when you sign in.

  3. You can click the download button to install the app.

While in the early access group, each time we release a new app you will be notified by email, and the email will contain a link to download that version along with a summary of what’s new in that release.

Beta Access

Datalink have a number of ways to access our non-production apps.

For Android

Android beta apps are distributed through the Google Play Store.

  1. Visit the Crisisworks page on your device from within the Google Play Store app

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see the section titled Become a beta tester.

  3. Tap the I’M IN button, then tap JOIN.

  4. Wait 10-15 minutes for the beta sign-up process to complete, then return to the app detail page in the Google Play Store. You should see a message saying You’re a beta tester.

  5. When you download the app it will automatically be the beta app whenever one is available, or the production app otherwise.

For iOS

iOS beta apps are distributed through Apple’s Test Flight service.

  1. Install the Test Flight app from the App Store

  2. Request an invite to be a beta tester by contacting Datalink, and provide your UDID.

  3. When approved, whenever a beta app is available you will be notified and can download it via the Test Flight app.

  4. Beta apps expire after 90 days.

Early Access

Early access for testing the next generation of our apps is available as an invite only service.

To access App Center, follow these steps:

  1. Request an invite from Datalink

  2. If accepted, we will issue an invite.

  3. Respond to the invite and follow the steps to sign up as an App Center user.

  4. For iOS devices, you will need to also obtain your device’s UDID, and email it to Datalink to have it registered with Apple.
